Sally Hansen Magical Nail Makeup, Blue Aura

Hello all:-) Another Monday...and so begins the workweek! I figured since this is Autism Awareness Month, I would get a blue in before its too late. I also figured I would wear another Magical Nail Makeup holo. This is Blue Aura and a whole lot of pictures. I have to say, out of the three I have, this is my favorite!

AHHHHHH! Love this! Blue Aura is absolutely stunning! This is two thin coats, no topcoat. I feel like I am breaking some rule wearing no topcoat, but it looks so much better without!!! The last was left blurry on purpose to capture the rainbow. Seriously people, if you ever stumble upon these, grab em and run!!!

Orly Charged Up

Hello! I hope you are all having wonderful weekends! Today I have Charged Up from Orly. I wore this yesterday for the March of Dimes walk, since their color is purple. It was a nice walk, they exceeded their fundraising goal by quite a bit, and it is growing every year.

The color here came out true to life, this is a nice medium cool toned purple. This one did throw me for a loop though. I thought that this was a creme. It is not. Charged Up is a jelly. I needed 3 coats to get this opaque and my coats were not especially thin. It was very sheer on the first one, then I had some dragging near the cuticles on the second where it looked patchy and the third coat was the charm! It was a nice jelly, I just was expecting creme. This was super shiny, these pictures are before I put on topcoat!
I am going to try and get outside today since we have some sun. Go enjoy our Sunday, I'll talk to you guys again soon!

Sally Hansen Magic Nail Make Up- Mystical Mandarin

Hi guys, TGIF! My week was alright, nothing much going on. Tomorrow I am doing the March of Dimes walk with my mom and my sister. It's a cause that's close to my family. So hopefully it's a good turnout and a nice day! Anyways to get to the polish, today, I have another one that came out of the mystery grab bag I was talking about before. This is Mystical Mandarin. A gorgeous linear holo! The old stinky, loaded with chemicals kind of holo! To me it looks a lot more pink than mandarin, but who really cares when it looks like this!

So this is tow coats of MM then one of SV then another MM. I'm not sure if it is true or not, but I feel like that layer of topcoat helps is it hold up a little better. I put the polish coat over that because I feel like it loses some of its linear 'holo-ness' (I am aware that holo-ness is not a word, haha).  This goes on very thin and has some bald patches on the first coat but by two its nice and covered:-)
I have three of these lovelies and rarely wear them because I don't want to use it all up! Therefore, I will post these as I wear them, I wont be swatching and removing. I don't know how many were in this collection, but here is what I have:

Mystical Mandarin, Fairy Dust Pink, and Blue Aura

Sally Hansen- Nail Prisms- Purple Diamond

Hi Guys, I'm writing this up while I should be doing extra studying for another test... priorities right? Gotta fit some me time in here and there...Anyways, I apologize in advance because this is not a polish that is readily available anymore. I'm sure you could find it on ebay or somewhere, but this is an oldie. I actually found a bag of these a few (8?) years ago, at a store called Christmas Tree Shop. The had a bin with these clear plastic makeup cases each filled with about 8 Sally Hansen polishes. They were sealed shut and you couldn't really tell what polishes were inside so, I grabbed two mystery bags and here I have one of them. This is Purple Diamond (beware picture heavy!!)

Here is how it looked when I tried to get it inside my lightbox, the holo disappeared:

And here are some blurry ones so that you can see the sparkles:

Isnt this pretty! Its a light silvery-lavender holo, that just shines! If I thought it was hard to capture purple or glitter, that was cake compared to holo! You would not believe how many pictures I had to take to get it narrowed down to this! If you think I am complaining, I am not I would have taken twice this for this polish. This is two coats PD with a topcoat of SV then another coat of PD because I thought the topcoat kind of killed the rainbow effect. This is pretty watery in consistency and the first coat leaves some patchiness, but it fills in nicely. For a while holo polishes like this were hard to find, but more and more polishes brands are releasing them again. Yay for that!

China Glaze- For Audrey

Hi guys, happy Sunday. I am being so lazy today. I am sitting on my couch, still in my jammies, and I love it! If I had got to sleep past 7 this morning (after being up until 2:30), today would be perfect. Today I have a polish that was one of the first one's that I fell in love with when I started collecting (aka hoarding, lol)! This is one of those ones that has a special place in a lot of peoples collections, China Glaze- For Audrey.

The formula on this is a nice two coat creme. Nothing else to really say about it. I know lots of colors like this have come out recently and it works great for spring/summer. This one will always be one of my favorites. Luckily this isn;'t hard to find, its in most core displays.
Now its off to, oh I dont know, take a nap? (I love Sunday!)

China Glaze- First Mate & BM204

Hi guys, how is everyone doing? So last week I had the stamping bug and did some fun designs. This is another one.

So I started with two coats of China Glaze First Mate, which I found to be a wonderful dark blue creme. Then I planned on stamping yellow suns on top. For this I choose China Glaze Sunshine Popand BM204. SP was not opaque enough to come out true yellow over such a dark base. So instead it came out kind of gold. it didn't really look like suns so i got out my dotting tool and used the same yellow to dot the center. To be honest I don't really know what these look like but I thought they were cool, so whatever:-)
I apologize for the super crappy pictures. I don't know why my camera couldn't focus. I thought maybe it was the cuticle oil? After so much swatching, I needed that oil though, and the colors are still accurate. Incase you want to see First Mate alone, here she is:

Orly Fresh- Spring Flowers

Hello! Thanks for stopping by:-) Today I have another one of the designs I tried Sunday (while I was supposed to be studying)! I don't know why but this design with the green and pink reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer and West Palm Beach. Preppy, beachy, and fun:-)

This is two coats of Orly Fresh, stamped with Bm224. For the flowers I used my trusty Sinful Colors White on White, with China Glaze Dance Baby for the dots in the flowers. Somehow this color didn't give me lobster hands which makes me very happy, because I love this!

Citrus Fruit:-)

Hello again! It's the beginning of another work week... I have an exam for an insurance class I'm taking this morning, so fingers crossed! I was supposed to a bunch of studying yesterday, but I kept taking stamping breaks! I am looking forward to getting out today, since its going to be 86 degrees, wooo-hoo! I'll take all the nice weather I can get, tomorrow is supposed to be 57! Everyone here always wonders why we get sick so often, a 30 degree difference day to day and swings in wet/dry could be to blame... Or not, but its the excuse I'll use:-) Anyways for one of my stamping experiments today I was inspired by the sunny warm forecast and came up with this:

This is two coats of Sinful Colors White on White, with little citrus fruits stamped from BM 209. For the oranges I used Essie- Brazilliant, for the limes I used Orly Fresh, and for the lemons, I used China Glaze Sunshine Pop. I love Sinfuls basic black and white polishes for a base or for stamping. The colors of the fruit showed up a little more vibrant in real life, but you can get the idea. I think it's a cute summery look, and was super easy to do:-)

Orly Luxe & Konad m57

Hello and Happy Weekend! Today I have for you some flashy zebra nails:-) This is Orly Luxe, which seemed like it was missing something on it's own so this is what I did to spruce it up.

So Luxe is a champagne gold foil. This kind of gold works a little better on me than the really brassy-yellow toned ones. I had some bald spots on my nails after the first coat, but the second covered completely. Its pretty thin and you have to use thin coats or it will run. Like most foils you can see any ridges or imperfections on the nail so if you have any of these and plan on wearing this alone, I recommend a ridge filler base coat.
I wasn't feeling this by itself, so I reached for my stamping plates and decided on this one, Konad m57. This is probably my favorite plate due to my love of all things animal print:-) For the black I used Sinful Colors Black on Black which is an awesome inexpensive glossy black polish.
So below I added a few pic of Luxe on its own so you can see the color and finish a little better.

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you all have wonderful weekends:-)

OPI- Bold

Hello again! Happy Wednesday:-) Today I have a color my mother in law picked up for me one day. I got in the car with her and she was like "Here, I know you like nail polish". She does thoughtful things like that, I really lucked out in the in law department:-) So anyway this is OPI DS Bold...

This is three coats with two coats SV. My first impression was that it reminded me a lot of Excuse Moi! There are two major differences though, one is the obvious lack of multi colored glitter mixed in. The other is the formula. Excuse Moi! was a two coater, packed with glitter but very gritty and hungry for topcoat. The base was clear on EM too. This has a rose colored jelly base and the glitter was a bit less dense. So although I needed an extra coat, it was a lot smoother on the nail. I like this. It's really a pretty wearable glitter, not too over the top. I have seen comparisons of this to China Glaze Mrs. Claus, and they are close enough for me to call dupes.
I have to confess though...I am slightly glittered out (blasphemy!) This is completely due to glitter removal. I know...foil...still, it's a pain in the ass! I have a few really pretty ones sitting in my untrieds, and as much as I want them on my nails, I can only do it so often.

Sinful Colors- Cloud 9

Hi guys! Well we're halfway through another week. I hopefully yours is going well:-) I had a rough nail day today... I woke up early and decided to do my nails before I got ready for work. I don't usually do that, but I would have had time if I hadn't decided I hated it and started over like 15 minutes before walking out the door! Why would I think that would be a good idea? So I got them done, (all four coats) then put on m coat. When my hand emerged from the sleeve, a hideous sight appeared... It looked like crumpled orange Saran wrap on my nails. At this point I was stuck with it. So all day I hid my left hand from anyone I could. I wish I had got a picture so you could understand! Anyways, the first thing I did when I got home was throw a rubber glove on the still nice right hand and go to work!

This is Sinful Colors- Cloud 9. It is very sheer on it's own (which is why I took it off this morning!), but makes a great layering polish. To get this opaque, I used two coats of Sally Hansen Sunkissed as underwear. It kept the color true but without the vnl. I love the glowy gold shimmer in this. Its really a juicy color. Perfect for summer.
The first two pictures are in the lightbox, and the last two are hiding behind my curtains in the living room by the window, trying to get the last minutes of sunlight:-) The color is true in both depending on the light source.

Easter Skittles:-)

Good Morning:-) I hope everyone had great weekends and Easters! I have all too much candy, and if I'm good it would take me at least 3-4 months to eat it. My guess is, its gone in a week! I know myself too well. My son had a blast though, going to both my families and my husbands families houses for two dinners, with the Easter Bunny showing up at both their houses plus ours... he actually thought it was another Christmas.
Anywhozle... I didn't get around to doing an Easter mani beforehand but I'll show you what I wore this weekend today. This is skittles with dots...they remind me of Easter Eggs:-)

So I used :
Essie Fiji
Revlon Sunshine Sparkle
Sally Hansen Lacy Lilac
Sally Hansen Blue-Away
Revlon Minted
Gap Peach Sherbet
I didn't manage to get a clear picture of my thumb, I wore Fiji on it with all the same dots as on the others. I really liked this, it was easy and festive, and cute.
